Barb & Marty to Halifax - June 5
Okay - for all of you who have relatives visiting and wanting to see Bears in the wild, then by all means bring them along Highway 5. Anywhere between Clearwater, Avola, BlueRiver and half way to Valemont. We sawa bunch yesterday and 6 today and quite frankly I'm not all that thrilled. I just ahd two days of Marty's brother's filling me in on all the bear stories when we stopped for a day in Blue River.
I kept thinking about the lawyer lady that got her ass bit whenever we passed one. Some are pretty big, but it's whenyou see a cub and where is the mom??? It's quite disconcerting to be on a bike with you and nothing metal in between you and those cute jaws of death. Oh well - we have survived nicely so far and the biking is getting a bit easier now.
We got the family rate at Mike Wigley's ski lodge ( Thanks Rory) and had a great break - hot tubs, king size beds - laundry done ( we were stinking!)
Leigh & Wendy - I bet you just can't wait to see us stinkers!
We are in valemont Wednesday night and may just make Jasper tomorrow - but that would be a long one - depends on winds and weather.
However - we will cross our first Provincial border & I'll take my measurements again and see if there is any progress!
