Endless Summer
Santa Cruz Flats - Rob Clarkson Report #7
Kickin' cactis. It was a very tought day today. The task was a 100km diamond
to the north west. The lift was week and base was low (we never have clouds
here). No one made goal and lots land in the start circle. I head out on
course and find my self at 300' for 20 min. I have spent alot of time low this
week and I was asked by a couple of the other pilots if I was afaid of
heights. I climbed up to 600' before I finally land. I called for a tug to
come and pull me back out of the desert. It wasn't graceful but I did get back
out. Jim wouldn't tow me back to the resort but instead towed me to the edge
of the start circle. I found one more climb and then landed at the first turn
point. I wish I would have just come back here. So in a poor day of flying I
managed to get 1 1/2hrs of air time. I hope tomorrow is better so I can get
one more flight before I head home.
