Endless Summer
Santa Cruz Flats - Rob Clarkson Report #1
Saturday Scott and I were both stressed and more that ready to get out of
town. We showed up at the airport after lunch and the place was deserted. We
walked straight up to the counter and were greated by two very cute girls.
After chating with them for awhile they asked if we would like to moved up to
first class at no charge. That would be awsome thanks.
Next customs. I always hate going through customs. I was given some good
advice a long time ago. Give simple honest answers to their questions. Don't
voleenter any extra information. Scott and I are both traveling with our foam
to short pack our gliders for the flight home. There are no other passangers
in customs and we each walk up to a customs agent. I hand the agent my
passport. He asks me "what's that"? I respond "foam"......He slides my
passport "thanks". Wow that was easy.
The plane is less than half full and Scott and I enjoy all the pretzels we can
eat. Once in Phoenix we get our bags in less than 5 minutes of arriving at
baggage claim. We have a short wait on the shuttle bus to head to the car
rental. Again this place is deserted. Dealing with the rental agency is quick
and painless. In no time we are on our way to Fransico Grande. Its a short
45min drive and we find it with no problem. Scott is great to travel with!
About half the pilots are here when we arrive. Most we just saw in Florida two
weeks ago. Its great to see every one again and we are all very exited to be
here. This resort is awsome.
